West Cork – The Home of the Dawning Idea

Our Challenges apply to anybody prepared to take the risk of writing poetry or prose, Gospel truth or downright fiction, be it humorous or dramatic, light hearted or as dark as the deepest sin.  We ask only that you take the chance and join the game.

The best way to begin, once you have looked us over, is to go to the "Current Title" page, fire up that keyboard and let rip, hesitantly at first perhaps, but gaining in confidence as you begin to find your voice. 

Our challenge is open to the Complete Beginner every bit as much as to the Seasoned Pro, and whichever you are, you must never forget the power of a raw & honest idea to change the world - sometimes even to change us.

One new page "The Blow Ins" heralds the first challenge to be met by our very first honorary West Corker from the lands over the sea - in this case one Mike Crowley from the deep forests of Northern California.

A second new page is for contributors who, although living in Ireland are unable to attend our Friday night meetings, we have chosen to call "The Irregulars" - kicked off by a certain John Simonity, an enterprising young Turk from the Beara.

We look forward to featuring within these two new pages the absolute best of all our outside contributions in the future!  We only insist that you live on Planet Earth or are at least visiting.

To be frank, the rule that you inhabit the same plane of existence is more of a guideline....
